Chin shaping aesthetics (Chinoplasty) is a surgical intervention performed to improve the shape, size or position of the chin. This procedure is performed to correct asymmetries in the chin area, to provide a more aesthetic appearance to the chin or to improve the proportion of the chin to the lower face. Both men and women prefer this aesthetic to ensure that their chin lines are more pronounced and in harmony with their facial features.
Patients arrive at the hospital on the day of the procedure. A fasting period of 6–8 hours is required beforehand. If the patient smokes, it is recommended to stop at least one week prior.
Most patients are eligible for same-day discharge. However, if general anesthesia is used or additional procedures are combined, a 1-night hospital stay may be advised.
Chinoplasty is performed under local or general anesthesia, and typically takes 1 to 2 hours.
Rest is recommended for the first 2–3 days. Mild swelling and discomfort are normal. Most patients can return to social activities within 7–10 days, with full recovery usually completed in 2–4 weeks, depending on individual healing.
