Eyelid Aesthetics

(Blepharoplasty) What is Eyelid Aesthetics?

Eyelid aesthetics is a cosmetic surgery procedure preferred by many people who want to achieve a younger and fresher appearance. This procedure eliminates signs of aging such as sagging, bags and wrinkles on the eyelids, making the person look more vigorous and energetic.

Eyelid aesthetics is the removal or reshaping of excess skin, muscle and sometimes fat tissue on the upper and/or lower eyelids. The procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia and is usually performed as an outpatient procedure.

Eyelid aesthetics is usually performed on people aged 35 and over. However, younger individuals may also need eyelid aesthetics due to genetic factors or various health conditions. Eyelid aesthetics may be considered in the following cases:

  • Dropped or baggy eyelids
  • Excess skin that blocks vision
  • Prominent wrinkles around the eyes
  • Tired or aged appearance
